Seaweed harvester
Meados do Século XX – Coleção do Museu do TrajeIn the parish of Afife, for seaweed harvesting, the women used the week’s clothes to go to sea. However, to get into the seawater, they only wore the inside skirt made of linen and trimmed with a square or coloured cloth. On top, besides wearing a shirt of tow, they also wore a waistcoat and half a scarf. On top of the hat and on the way to the beach, they took the skirt and apron to wear back home.
