Carreço

As described by Baldaque da Silva in 1892, in the parish of Carreço, there were sheds to support agricultural and marine activities in Paçô (6), Fornelos (2), and Fonte do Mar (4) (Baldaque da Silva, 1892). Associating this information with the data obtained in the books of request “Requerimentos” of the Viana do Castelo Town Council, between the mid-19thcentury and early 20thcentury, we found several requirements asking Viana’s Town Council to build the said sheds.
